Who is the Síndic?

José Cholbi DiegoThe Síndic de Greuges of the Region of Valencia is José Cholbi Diego since 9th March 2009.

Born in Jávea, Alicante, Cholbi was elected on 4th March 2009 and took office on the following day.

He has a long career as a member of the Parliament. He has been Autonomic Representative in five legislatures, First Vice-president of the Valencian Parliament, President of the Special Commission for the Reform of the Autonomic Statute and Member of the Senate by the Region of Valencia in three legislatures. He has also been National Representative of Alicante in other three legislatures and at the same time, he joined the Commission of the National Ombudsman.

José Cholbi has been a member of the Supreme Assembly of the Red Cross. He has joined humanitarian expeditions. He has been also International Elections Observer.

On 16th March 2009, José Cholbi appointed Emilia Caballero Álvarez First Assistant to the Síndic and Carlos Morenilla Jiménez Second Assitant.
